We spent a little time last week poking around at ReSource; they had just gotten in a brand new donation of old doors.
Here is our new front door:
We bought it ONE day before discovering our house was actually brick; I'm hoping it isn't too "new" for house once we restore the brick. Our old door is rotting, cracked, and has a plexiglass window... can't wait to put this one in. It was only $30, too! We have the original hardware; it is in a different place.
Also, we decided to use the black "porcelain" (or jet) doorknobs throughout the house. We bought one at ReSource, and found a lot of the knobs on ebay for cheap:
$20 after shipping and handling. They look like they need a lot of work, but hopefully I can salvage most of them.
I am a big fan of unifying features in such a small house; I have this need for all doors, doorknobs, trim, lights, etc to be the same throughout our house. Is anyone else like this, or am I just a freak for symmetry?

no you're totally not a freak. I can't wait till I can search for little fun things like this!
Definitely not a freak- I do the same thing!! Love the doorknobs- and the door. I wish our ReStore had the good quality exterior doors that you found- it seems they only have interior doors at my location...
I have all glass door knobs but I like the glass knobs that have changed color to a light lavender (sun glass). So I have been compiling a pile of lavender knobs and hope to be able to switch them when ever a lavender mood hits me.
Are you going to stain or paint the door?
Nope, not a freak. I'm kind of the same about that stuff. I found doorknobs on Ebay that are the same vintage as my house... not the exact same style, but the same manufacturer. Some of the knobs are black glass too so I'm excited to get those in. I'm not as concerned about everything being exactly the same, but I need them to be the same vintage as the house. Like the original owners might have picked them out!
I love the door, I wish I could find one just like it. (For our house I would add one of those craftsman style "door shelves".) I think it suits your house well. The door has a craftsman feel to it. Once you get up your new old columns it will be great.
P.S. I also see your rocking chair find.
Pretty.
Ha! I love your comment on my blog about being vegetarian and owning leather couches!! I am glad we are kindred spirits. Actually, I am vegetarian because I don't want to eat something that was once alive mooing and clucking around and such. It still freaks me out to be sitting on leather (i.e., notion of it being part of a former animal) but for some reason I can get over it...maybe because of the reasons listed on my meme. Yes, I know I am a freak!! LOL!! Anyway, thanks for posting.
