Well, a Few of You Warned Me...

... but it was too late. I'm sidelined temporarily by what is likely quadriceps tendonitis, an over-use injury of the tendon right above the patella.

I have NO idea what caused it... no REALLY.

Ok... maybe moving a ton or two of rocks by myself could cause an overuse injury. Think so?

I've been icing for the past few days, and generally keeping off of it. It's starting to feel normal! I'm hoping that by tomorrow I might be able to do some light, NON-knee bending activities.

  1. Ouch! I had an overuse injury to my shoulder last year...something about pulling shingles off the house for days and days... Hope your knee/leg heals up quickly!

  3. You deserved a break after all that work anyway, right? I hope you feel better soon.

  5. Oh MAN! I SO feel for ya! Went through this same thing last year after the porch/walkway project. I hope you are feeling great again soon.

But you know what? Here's the upside: more than a year later, those muscles ARE STILL THERE! And, now when I heft a bag of laundry or trash or a box of cat litter, it doesn't feel heavy. :-)

  6. Major bummer. I got sidelined last summer with an arch injury from too much running. It sucked but luckily didn't last more than a few weeks. Hopefully you'll be feeling better quickly as well.

  7. Love your raised gardens. The stone is beautiful. Glad to see that another local is house blogging. Keep up the good work!
