Since our crap is so old we have them out twice a year to make sure it will all last another few months. They are pretty cheap (50 or 75 bucks a visit and they usually replace any missing screws, parts, etc. for a nominal fee. I think it's woth it. What's with that filter type? We have the same thing. I am skeptical that they do anything - but there is dust on it so I guess it is working.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00809676214189088361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2103061776704295860.post-45988236162662325202008-09-08T07:10:00.000-06:002008-09-08T07:10:00.000-06:00Thanks Rob and Muskego Jeff~ We will try both of ...Thanks Rob and Muskego Jeff~ We will try both of these to see what works! If you haven't had the furnace inspected since you moved in, DO THAT. They'll check to make sure you're not leaking CO3, that the heat exchanger is burning clean, and they'll replace the filter with the correct one. Will save you money in the long run.
A quick fix for the filter is to measure your space and temp. replace it with another. You can buy cheap ones at the hardware store--cut it to size.
But DO get the whole system looked over.
Much Love!
Your Auntie-in-law.
xoxoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2103061776704295860.post-78171488972369026262008-09-04T15:41:00.000-06:002008-09-04T15:41:00.000-06:00Got a wider angle picture? The house I grew up in had one like the drawing, and I remember my dad found a way to use "standard" 1" thick filters in it - the kind with the cardboard edging around 'em.

All things considered, if you can find a way to use regularly available filters you are much more likely to change the filters on a regular basis.Muskego Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00066821318376402273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2103061776704295860.post-71083060731379869062008-09-04T12:22:00.000-06:002008-09-04T12:22:00.000-06:00This kind of fencingThis kind of fencingRobj98168https://www.blogger.com/profile/12449968557883132353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2103061776704295860.post-74967310715904070592008-09-04T12:19:00.000-06:002008-09-04T12:19:00.000-06:00Can you make the part? I would try some wire fincing (not chicken wire) or some concrete wire, and fold it over to match the shape.Robj98168https://www.blogger.com/profile/12449968557883132353noreply@blogger.com
